From the Mountains of Monte Joana to a Career in Guiding: A Passionate Journey ⛯ Since 2008, I have dedicated myself to guiding travellers from all walks of life and corners of the globe, in five different languages, through the rugged, breathtaking landscapes of Cape Verde. My passion for guiding began in the heart of Santo Antão Island, in the small mountainside village of Monte Joana, where I grew up with my grandparents. It was in these very mountains that I first discovered my love for helping others. As a child, I would often encounter lost tourists wandering through the winding paths, unsure of their way. Even then, I felt a strong desire to guide them, to show them the beauty and wonder of the island I called home.
